Centara Proudly Accepts The 2006 Finalist, San Diego Better Business Bureau Torch Award

On December 5th, Centara Capital was honored as a Finalist for the Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics by the San Diego Better Business Bureau in the 25-99 employee category. This marks the second year in a row the firm has been honored with this prestigious award.

More than 500 business and community leaders attended the Torch Awards presentation luncheon which was held at the San Diego Convention Center. “We are honored that the Better Business Bureau has selected us as a Torch Award Finalist for the second year in a row,” said Eduardo Lombardi, CEO of Centara Capital. “This award is a reflection of our character and represents a commitment to the same principles on which our company was founded: Integrity, Teamwork and Trust. Centara strives to establish ethical partnerships with our clients, employees, and the community each and every day. It is a real privilege to be recognized for that,” says Lombardi.

The Torch Award recognizes local businesses that have demonstrated exemplary ethical business practices in their relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and the community. Each company was evaluated by a panel of judges from the business and academic community independent of the Better Business Bureau. The criteria used to evaluate Centara for this prestigious award included: 1) Commitment to and demonstration of ethical practices in the marketplace 2) High standards of behavior toward customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and communities 3) Truthfulness and accuracy of advertising and sales practices 4) Ethical reputation among industry peers and in communities in which they do business 5) Long-term value of ethics policies to shareholders, customers and employees and 6) Training and communications programs to assist employees in carrying out established ethics policies.

Centara's achievement will be featured in a special BBB Torch Award section of the February issue of San Diego Magazine.
