Employee Spotlight: Alan Clopine, CPA

Alan Clopine, CPA is Centara Capital’s Director of Tax Consulting. His responsibilities include high level tax consulting on advanced estate planning and income tax matters. As an avid real estate investor, he also helps many clients in planning their property investments.

A native San Diegan and a graduate from UCSD, Alan began his career in accounting in 1980. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1984. By November 1987, Alan opened his own tax firm, Clopine & Associates, LLP. He and his staff of five worked to meet the special needs of each client, offering suggestions concerning accounting and tax matters, how to improve cash flow and reduce overall taxes.

In December of 2005, Alan merged his tax practice with Centara Capital. He felt confident that Centara Capital would offer the same consultative approach in each of their financial specialties that he did with his clients. Alan loves the personal interaction part of his job. He enjoys helping his clients improve their finances and finds each individual case exciting and rewarding.

Alan and his wife Anne have two sons Robbie, 16, and Ryan, 14. Alan has been active coaching youth baseball and soccer. His hobbies include boogie boarding, snorkeling, playing guitar, real estate investing and frequent trips to his condo in Kauai.
